STAR TREATMENT
Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Extravagance, £110 for 120 minutes at Stoke Park Club (01753 717170)
Rich gels and rose oils are massaged into freshly exfoliated skin. Deep massage, including foot reflex points.
Comment: Pure indulgence — a relaxing, cleansing massage that left skin and face feeling moisturised and nourished.
Jurlique mini-detox
15-minute talk with a naturopath, who advises on a detox diet including a herbal brew to be drunk three times a day, then an hour’s reflexology detox massage.
Comment: The therapist concentrated on legs, stomach and feet. You should follow the diet to see any benefits, and have a few more massages.
Mud wrap, £57 at The Sanctuary Spa
Includes a full-body exfoliation, followed by a thick layer of clay-like mud. The body is then wrapped in clingfilm for ten minutes to increase the effect.
Comment: The skin felt totally purified, detoxed and much more moisturised than before. It was a slightly clinical treatment, though, involving being washed down on a wet bed.
